A Level Law Programme (England & Wales Legal System)

This programme introduces the fundamental principles of the law of England and Wales, covering key areas such as the legal system, contract law, tort law, and criminal law. It develops analytical reasoning, legal interpretation, and problem-solving skills, enabling students to construct structured legal arguments and apply legal concepts to real-world scenarios.

Designed as a foundation for higher education and professional legal pathways, the course prepares learners for progression into academic qualifications such as LLB and career routes including solicitor or legal advisory roles.

Overview

This programme provides a structured introduction to the law of England and Wales, focusing on the core principles that underpin the legal system and its application in real-world contexts. Learners develop the ability to analyze legal problems, interpret legal rules, and construct reasoned arguments using appropriate legal terminology.

The syllabus covers the structure and operation of the English legal system, alongside key substantive areas of law. For examination cycles between 2020–2022, the focus includes contract law and tort law. For 2023–2025, the curriculum expands to include criminal law, in addition to contract and tort.

This course is designed to build a strong academic foundation for progression into higher legal education, including undergraduate law degrees (LLB), and supports pathways into legal and related professional careers.
