This diploma goes beyond routine technical operations by showing how advanced technologies support organizational strategy, innovation, and sustainable growth. Additionally, learners examine complex computing challenges and develop solutions that balance technical performance, business requirements, security, ethics, budgets, and project deadlines.

Level 7 Diploma in IT covers network architecture, communication models, IP addressing, routing, traffic management, and troubleshooting in depth. Furthermore, learners explore big data sources, processing pipelines, analytical models, and data visualization techniques. Database studies build practical skills in relational systems, SQL, data modelling, and secure information management. Moreover, the Management Information Systems unit shows how technology and business intelligence improve planning and decision-making.

The Computers and Society unit examines privacy, intellectual property, cybercrime, professional responsibility, and ethical issues related to artificial intelligence, robotics, cloud computing, and big data. Finally, in the Computing Projects unit, learners analyze a real-world technology problem, prepare project requirements and proposals, design and develop a secure digital solution, and present their final outcomes.

What is the eligibility?

Applicants must be aged 20 or above and meet at least one of the following requirements:

  • A bachelor’s degree in information technology
  • A relevant Level 6 qualification
  • Three to four years of relevant professional experience

Admission is subject to an interview. However, applicants whose first language is not English normally require IELTS 6.0 or an equivalent qualification. Moreover, two supporting references may also be requested, preferably including one academic reference.

Course structure

The Level 7 Diploma in IT comprises six mandatory units. Each unit carries 20 credits, providing a total of 120 credits, 1,200 Total Qualification Time (TQT) hours and 600 Guided Learning Hours (GLH).
